Since shjennyortly after FVEPA’s inception, Jennifer Cowden has been an active and valued member of the Fraser Valley Event Planning Association. jen-cand make connections. Once Jennifer became familiar with the association and the benefits of being a member, joining the board was the next obvious step for her. Already making new connections regularly herself, she joined the board to help others in the industry get the same opportunities she was receiving through FVEPA.

Jennifer has worn many hats on the board ranging from her current role as Secretary, and previous roles of Director of Membership, President and Past President. She values the collaboration and team work from the board, which has illustrated to her how such strong relationships can make wonderful things happen. From FVEPA’s monthly meetings at alternating venues, to Trade Shows, and the numerous luncheons FVEPA has hosted, Jennifer has been a key player in pulling jen-cowedentogether some fantastic and fun events.

Jennifer and DFC Events have made numerous connections with suppliers through FVEPA and leverage those relationships when planning their clients’ events. Their team has worked with: With our business, Celebrate the Moment, Confetti Party and Tent Rentals, Gatherings West, Showtime, ZealousArt and Painting pARTies. Of all the wonderful people she has met through FVEPA, the most memorable connection for her was back at the inaugural FVEPA Trade Show; the night she was givenphoto-with-harold-of-harold%27s-1 the opportunity to introduce Cheryl Ceccetto, event planner for the Oscars Governor’s Ball. You just never know who you might meet at a FVEPA event!

In closing, Jennifer gave us some words of wisdom she lives by that all of us in the industry can take to heart: “If plan A doesn’t work, the alphabet has 25 more letters – 204 if you’re in Japan.” ~ Claire Cook
