Networking: Three Ways to help Build FVEPA

Networking is a great way to grow your business: it facilitates collaboration, helps people know who you are as a business person, and it helps you learn more about your own as well as other people’s industries.  The best kind of networking group fosters a nurturing and supportive atmosphere, as well as a steady stream of “new blood”.  The best networking groups have energized members who are always recruiting.  Since we’re all busy with work and life, recruiting sometimes gets put to the bottom of the list, when it’s actually more important for us and our businesses than we realize.  Here are some fun ways to get more people to networking nights with FVEPA.

1)      Join more than just one networking group.  In order to leverage your business, it’s important to be involved in several social networking groups.  A good rule of thumb is to do one weekly, one monthly and one industry specific group.  From these groups you can meet more people, listen to their business needs and determine if FVEPA is right for them.  If it is, let them know!  Chances are that networkers are open to more networking, and it could be just the group to help them grow their business more than ever!

2)      Invite colleagues.  You probably meet many different people working on just one event: so invite them!  I like to sweeten the deal by picking out someone that I have a lot in common with or is complimentary in business to the group I’m inviting them to and introducing the two online.  That way, they’ll know more than just me at the event I bring them to!

3)      Find someone thinking of a career change or in a complimentary industry.  Do you have a friend, family member or colleague who is thinking of a career change?  Or how about someone in an industry that is parallel to events: like personal training, landscaping, or massage therapy?  Inviting your friends who can help your other friends makes good business sense.  A guest looking to get into a new career is great for business as well: many of us can use an intern or assistant, and they can use the experience to see if the job is right for                                       them. You just never know what will happen when you get more people to come out!

See you at the next FVEPA Networking Mix & Mingle Night, May 26, 2015!
